Hi Miki, all you need to do is:
Purl the pattern on the knit row, knit the pattern of the purl row.

hi, i’m a beginner knitter and am knitting a scarf for my boyfriend and i really would like to use the pattern above. yet, i am a little unsure about how to create the pattern on the scarf mainly because i am doing a stockinette stitch. my question is: on the knit row, do i purl where the pattern (heart) tells me to, and if so, in the purl row (next row) do i knit it or purl it?
sorry it might be confusing, but i would appreciate it if you help me

My late auntie was great in knitting mittens and shoes for new born. But whenever I asked her to teach me, she would ask me to read her hand-written instructions. As a lazy person, I gave up eventually. Your knitting skill is really good! You must be a very patient person.
