Bareback Halter Knit Top For Little Girl
Update: Free pattern is available here!
Finally, I completed the top for my daughter, Nicole. Although I didn’t finish it in time for her birthday, I finished it just in time for her birthday party that we are throwing for her and her brother, Ian. Since the both of them were born in the month of September but 5 years apart, we decided to have a double birthday party.
She was so happy and excited about it that she couldn’t wait to wear it and asked to put it on early in the morning… her birthday party was in the evening though! She said she is going to wear it the whole day until the party ends…. I took her to the poolside for some nice photos of her wearing it. I just did Lasik on Friday so my vision is not 100% perfect, glad to have my Canon DSLR, as it makes snapping photos easy and pretty, otherwise, I don’t think I can have any well focused photos to put up here LOL…
I am going to write this pattern but it will take a while for me to finish it as I am a novice in written pattern. I just want to make sure that I didn’t miss out any important steps in my pattern. I will post it up as soon as I finish it… may be just in time for your Spring and Summer
Hopefully I am not “late” again for the pattern!!!
Some snap shots of them enjoying their birthday party. It is kind of difficult to get them to post beautifully in 1 photo somehow…. Nicole was still wearing the knit top I made for her.
And, before the party began, they got all wet in a small temporary swimming pool we set-up for them in our garden.

My little girl is 14 now, and no longer wears the things I make, unless they are made of satin or are “fashionable”. But this is lovely.
Well done and thanks for sharing lovely photos.
Wow, you have a 14 year-old daughter!!! Wonder if my daughter will still like my handmade when she reach that age :p Looks like I need to start learning how to make bling-bling fashion garment from now on
you might need a bedazzler!! (jk)
That is really cute!
Thanks
I really like the top, Your children are beautiful.
Thanks, both of them look more alike to their father though ha ha ha…
Designing your own knits. I am impressed. I want to design some things but am always scared for some unfathomable reason, even though I have several books on designing your own knits.
Designing our own pattern is fun, you can start with a simple pattern
I bet you are gonna feel 101% delighted with the process.
That is super cute! I have always wanted to learn how to knit…or is it crochet?
This is knitting. It is not as difficult as you think, all you need is patience
I love that ! I wish I knew how to do that. My 8 yr. old twins would love that top but I can’t knit and can barely crochet. LOL
You have twinssssss… wow, that would be lovely if you dress them identically. I love twins!!!!
What an adorable top (and little girl)!! She looks so cute in it and so proud!! Great job mamma!!
Geee…. I think she is proud of herself to have a mum to make her a sexy knitted top ha ha ha…
Adorable! Are the instructions up yet? Thanks for sharing…
The pattern and instructions are not ready yet, they are still in my draft :p Will post them up as soon as I completed them
Pretty halter! Happy belated bday to both your children too! ^_^
Thank you!!!
that’s sweet. When I saw the title “bareback halter for little girl” I was thinking eeesh… too much skin. But that’s a really cute top! I would totally let my girl where something as pretty (and modest) as that. Well done!
It is warm here all year round, so a little “exposure” will be cooler for her
Happy Belated Birthday to both Nicole and Ian!! Nicole looks so pretty with her mummy’s handmade halter! Well done, mom! Hope your vision will be recovered soon.
Thanks for the best regards…. Vision is not stabilised yet, so it is still a little blur :p
I LOVE THE TOP IT LOOKS SO CUTE YOU ARE REALLY TALENTED DON’T STOP
