I thinkI have solved the problem, I was slip stitching every dc and ss space, I have now done it only ss the ch except the 3dc at the corners. It looks better, am I right?

I am joining the squares, but my joining seams are really untidy. They do not look as smooth and show the stitch like yours does, I have tried in the front loop or back loop only, but any where that needs a dc not just a slip stitch create a roll rather than a smooth seam. Am I missing a trick?

I love this summer top. I would make it for my neice on her 5th birthday. I have a facebook page on crochet items where I make n sell my items.
