Thank you for posting instructions for such a lovely project. I did have one quick question about the starting chain. Could this (and the first row of DC) be replaced with a double crochet foundation row of 154? I just learned how to do the different foundation stitches, and I wasn’t sure if there are limitations in applying that technique for projects like this.
