Have you ever had too many cards that your wallet can handle? Be selective and get only those cards that you might be using in a particular shopping mall but end up they were the wrong one? Or, may be just forgot to “update” the cards in the wallet on your next trip? Can’t find the cards you thought you have already put into your wallet? Sounds familiar….. If you are nodding your head now, you need a pouch for the cards just like me.

I am not a big fan of big wallet, with the increasing numbers of cards that I have, my decent size wallet is no longer able to buckle up. Sometimes, I just temporary placing the card in my purse’s pocket but I forgot about it later. I need an additional card pouch where I know where all my cards should locate. So, here it is, my new zipper card pouch :)

This zipper pouch can hold up to 30 plastic cards (similar to credit cards), and more for thinner cards, business calling card for example. With the zipper open up to the side and couple with an internal gusset, this will make card finding easier and faster.

    AWESOME!! Exactly what I need, but not for my credit cards (I don’t have many of those). Instead it’ll be for my wallet size photos. The plastic sleeve that came in my wallet has broken (as they always do eventually), and this will work perfectly to carry the photos separately! I may need to incorporate some firm plastic or something to keep it from bending, but that shouldn’t be too hard… template plastic maybe?

    This is great. I am so tired of the all those store cards fattening my wallet.

    One change I am going to make.

    I am going to add card slots so they will be easier to find.

    But I do like the way the zipper goes all the way down unlike all the other pouches out there.

    I’m still learning how to sew zippers in correctly, so far they look kinda funny. I love this little pouch and I’ll definitely give it a try.

    in step 2, these instructions are not clear:

    Fold [2] over then flip the lining [3], align to the zipper and canvas. Pin.

    fold [2] — please name it and tell us where to fold it, right or wrong sides together.

    flip — right, left, up, down, and right side up or down? what does “flip” mean, turn it over? fold it over? fold it over something else?

      Jeannette… I had some confusion at this point, too. I mostly went by the pic, and it worked out. Now that I’ve done it (see my comment above for photos), maybe I can help Joanne explain it in a little more detail:

      Fold (following arrow #2 in diagram) piece A over piece B so right sides are together. Then flip the entire lining (following arrow, #3) toward yourself and place over zipper and canvas. Pin.

    When I go to your blog the print and everything turn into really tiny pictures in the center of the screen? Never had that happen so not sure what it is?

    I’m having a hard time finding metal zippers with cute pulls. I’ve tried Joanns, Hobby Lobby and a local fabric store. Where did you get yours and where would be a good place to look? Indent mind looking online either.

    Love this! Just finished mine today. I modified it to be big enough to fit an iPhone + cards and added a keyring to the side–works great when I don’t want to lug a purse around! Thanks so much for the great tutorial!
