<p>Welcome the new members of my table decorations, frosted glass jars with lots of stars on them. They also act as tealight or candle stand decorated with holly berries. To make the christmas more aromatic&#8230;. I used pomegranate scented tealight and the candle has a white rose smell. They are going to give my house full of cozy warm christmas aroma ♥♥♥♥&#8230;.</p>
<p>Get the tutorial on how to make this simple and quick last minute christmas craft after this jump.<span id="more-8380"></span></p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Candle in another star jar" src="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/gallery/christmas-star-jar/star-jar-4.jpg" alt="candle frosted jar" width="588" height="392" /></p>
<p><strong>Tutorial</strong></p>
<p>There are 2 ways to frost a glass jar, either it is temporary or permanent. This tutorial is using frosted window tint sticker, it is temporary and can be removed with heat when you decided to re-use the jar for other purpose. Unlike the permanent type which uses frosted cream to etch the glass or sandblast tool to roughen the surface of the glass hence to make it &#8220;blur&#8221;; using frosted window tint is safer, with no chemical or mechanical equipment involved, it is fast to prepare and easy to clean up.</p>
<p><span style="float: left;"><a href="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Star-Jar-DIY1.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-8383" title="Materials to make Frosted Star Jar " src="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Star-Jar-DIY1.jpg" alt="How to make Frosted Star Jar" width="250" height="250" /></a>The tutorial is based on the frosted glass jar tealight stand. You can use this method for the candle glass jar too.<br />
Material:<br />
1. Clean glass jar with small mouth opening, just big enough to clasp a tealight candle.<br />
2. Frosted window tint (a small piece will do for each jar)<br />
3. Star templates (different sizes)<br />
4. Pen<br />
5. Scissor<br />
6. Tweezers<br />
7. Small glass wiper<br />
8. Water<br />
</span></p>
<p><span style="float: left;"><a href="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Star-Jar-DIY2.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-8384" title="Prepare Star" src="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Star-Jar-DIY2.jpg" alt="How to make easy star jar" width="250" height="250" /></a>Trace the stars on the back (paper side) of the frosted window tint. Cut them out.</span></p>
<p><span style="float: left;"><a href="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Star-Jar-DIY3.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-8385" title="Frosted Star" src="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Star-Jar-DIY3.jpg" alt="Frosted sticker Glass Jar" width="250" height="250" /></a>Carefully Peel off the backing paper with tweezers and immerse the star into water.</span></p>
<p><span style="float: left;"><a href="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Star-Jar-DIY4.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-8386" title="Adhesive side on the water" src="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Star-Jar-DIY4.jpg" alt="Frosted Star Sticker" width="250" height="250" /></a>It will float like this. Make sure the adhesive side is facing down and touching the water.</span></p>
<p><span style="float: left;"><a href="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Star-Jar-DIY5.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-8387" title="Positioning" src="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Star-Jar-DIY5.jpg" alt="Frost your galss" width="250" height="250" /></a>Carefully position the star on the wet but clean glass jar.</span></p>
<p><span style="float: left;"><a href="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Star-Jar-DIY6.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-8388" title="Wipe out the air bubble" src="http://www.craftpassion.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Star-Jar-DIY6.jpg" alt="Blur your glass with star shapes" width="250" height="250" /></a>Use a small glass wiper, carefully wipe out the air bubble captured in the star.<br />
Repeat the steps for the stars you intended to stick.<br />
Leave it to dry before handling.<br />
Your frosted star glass jar is ready for more decorations.<br />
Tip: If you notice any bubble in the star after it has dry or semi-dry, use a craft knife to make a small slash on the bubble to release the air out, spray some water and press that spot so that it adheres back to the glass.<br />
