“Omg, my favorite!” Bobo exclaimed as she looked at the crochet basket of orange delicacies. It seems like she has discovered Craft Passion’s stash of crochet carrots amigurumi from her stuffed bunny friends! Our precious sock bunnies, Lilac, Baby, and Bibi, left them as a surprise to welcome Bobo and her friend to our big family.
As soon as Bobo heard about all the fun and exciting things happening in the Craft Passion crochet animal and amigurumi community, she knew she had to take her best friend on her new adventure.
Crochet Bunny Patterns & Variations
The picture above shows Bobo and her best friend, Bebe, the purple crochet bunny. They are quite similar but can be distinguished in several ways.
Bobo’s pointed ears are decorated with a blue bow, making her look playful. On the other hand, Bebe has a pink flower on one of her floppy ears, making her look more relaxed.
Even though the two bunnies are the same size, Bobo looks bigger because of her upright ears. She is 17″ tall and sits 15″, while Bebe measures 11.5″ standing and 9.5″ sitting. However, they are actually the same size.
Oh, look! Our beige crochet bunny has found her new outfit: a set of crochet dress and panties! Let’s learn more about the adorable crochet bunny plush!
Crochet Supplies & Tools
Bobo is made of beige yarn, while Bebe is made of purple yarn. Of course, you can choose any other color you prefer. Besides the basic colors, you will need acrylic yarns in pastel blue/pink (for the bow) and dark brown (for the eyebrows and philtrum).
Other crochet supplies include a pair of 10mm dome eyes, a piece of 12mm safety nose, and some polyester stuffing material.
For the tools, you’ll just need your usual crochet kit with a 2.5 mm crochet hook, a long darning needle, a water-erasable fabric marker, and some pins.

More Details on how to crochet & assemble the Bunny Amigurumi
- Crochet parts for Amigurumi Bunny and stuff them according to the crochet pattern: Body, Head, Ears, Arms, Legs, Tail, and Bow or Flower.
- Sew the eyes, eyebrows, and philtrum to the head:
a. Using the yarn in the tapestry needle, sew on the eyes in Round 16, 15 stitches apart. Don't cut the yarn after sewing the first eye, but insert it into the head and come back out at the second eye to sew another eye. Pull the yarn a little to sink the eyes into the head and knot it tightly. You can run the yarn through the head a few times to prevent the yarn from snapping in the long run.
b. Sew on the philtrum and eyebrows with dark brown yarn. Poke the needle in at mark 1 (below the nose), take the needle out at mark 2 (above the eyes), and follow the thread path shown in the picture to sew a pair of eyebrows. Finish sewing at mark 6 (2 stitches below the nose), and knot the yarn ends together, hide the knot in the head. - Sew on ears and bow to the head:
a. You can sew the ears in an upright or lop-down position. Bobo (beige bunny) has a pair of upright ears with a blue bow, while Bebe (purple bunny) has a pair of floppy ears and a pink flower. See below for what makes Bebe different from Bobo.
b. Sew the blue bow in front of the ears on the head. - Sew head to the body:
Position the head on top of the body. Mark the position and pin it in place if necessary.
Sew the head to the body. - Sew arms and legs:
Sew the arms to the side, next to the seam of the head and body.
Then sew the legs to the body in round 15 (counting from the bottom). - Finally, sew the tail to the back of the body.
- For Bebe, the purple lop-eared bunny, crochet the first 12 rounds of arms and 17 rounds of legs with peachy pink yarn. Then crochet the rest of the pattern with lilac-purple yarn
Pin and sew the floppy ears behind the head.
Give her a pom-pom tail using the peachy pink yarn. In this tutorial, you'll learn how to make a pom-pom with a pom-pom maker or make a pom-pom with your fingers.
Notes
Depending on the speed and hours you spend on the project, the total time needed is only an approximation.
Stuff the pieces firmly and tightly to give your amigurumi doll a good shape.

I'm struggling with round 6 on the head, sc 2 Inc sc2 is adding more than 6 stitches?
Craft Passion
Wednesday 13th of July 2022
You need to do [sc 2, inc, sc 2] for 6 times in round 6, each inc account for 1 addition st. Hence, if you repeat this set 6 times, you will have an additional fo 6 sts. Hope I get your question correctly.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else had trouble with the head for the bunny being too large. I followed these but the head of the bunny turned out a lot bigger than it appears in the picture and looks too big for the body? 66 stiches and 32 rounds seems too many. I've made some of your other toys and they have all worked perfectly.
