The Crochet Carrot Amigurumi Pattern is a great intro for beginners hoping to get a hang of amigurumi craft. It is a little project that will not take up much of your time. Perfect for a wind-down session during some me-time after a stressful day of work or school.
Indeed, as you could tell from our last post, we have sure been busy in the craft village ever since Dessy and Denny, the couple Donkey Amigurumi moved in. Apart from bringing themselves to the village, I am sure you have noticed the bright little orange treat that they were holding so dearly onto. Yes, the Crochet Carrot Amigurumi was a welcome gift they generously brought into the community to share with their new friends! Not to mention that they even started planting new carrots in their new vegetable patch because everyone in the village loved them and couldn’t get enough of them. Aren’t they adorable?!
With typical Dessy being the bubbly chatterbox, she has completely gotten used to the Animal Amigurumi community by now. She and her husband have spent a good amount of time just exploring the hills and soaking up all the fresh air and greenery. They had so much fun getting to know their new friends too. Their carrot gift was such an amazing ice-breaker which helped them blend in with the rest of the community. Speaking of which, the crochet carrot did capture the attention of a particular bunny. They especially clicked with Ichigo-chan, the Easter Bunny Amigurumi, who shares a deeeep love for carrots as well! Everyone could tell that they absolutely adored their new home and their enthusiastic friends.

Apart from the usual bunny and carrot duo, the village now has another couple with a love for carrots! Ichigo-chan was so thrilled she shared her Needle Felted Easter Carrot with her new friends too. What’s better than having something in common that friends could bond over, right? Just look at how excited Ichigo-chan is with all the carrots surrounding her. Proves that their vegetable patch seems to be growing healthily?
Crochet Carrot Materials & Tools
We used orange color DK yarn and a 2.5mm crochet hook to crochet the carrot body and green color for the leaf. The carrot body was stuffed with polyester fiberfill when it was about to be completed. To complete the crochet carrot, sew to attach the curly cue green leaf to the head of the carrot. Hide all yarn ends by weaving the yarn into the body with a tapestry needle. In order to make the leaf looks “fresh” we spray it with fabric starch and leave it to dry in an upside-down position.
A ball of yarn could make a few carrots, so make more of these little carrot toys. They are great props for photography decoration. Not only could you pair them with your other toys like how we have matched them with my Donkey and Bunny amigurumi, but you could also put them alongside your dishes for a pop of color in food photography. It would be a great addition to a monthly baby photoshoot as well, or it could just be a nice little gift for children or even pets.
Now, would you help me craft more of this lovely crochet carrot amigurumi so that Dessy, Denny, and Ichigo-chan could share them with the Amigurumi community during the festival next year? Oh! One more thing, I’d love to see the vegetable patch grow bigger with vibrant colors. Let’s not forget the pumpkin amigurumi and big apple amigurumi that would be great additions to the patch as well.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE CROCHET CARROT AMIGURUMI
- Crochet 2 leaves and a carrot by following the written crochet pattern above.
- Sew to join the stem ends of the leaves together.
Use a tapestry needle to pull the yarn end of the leaf into the carrot so that the stem goes into the top cavity of the carrot. - Sew the stem and close the opening of the carrot with the orange yarn.
Hide all yarns and trim them away. - In order to let the leaf looks "crispy fresh" and rise, you may spray the leaves section with fabric starch. Hang the carrot inverted and let it dry in this position.
Notes
You may use different weights and yarn colors to create various sizes and colors of Carrots.

It is a beginner friendly pattern that really looks great and easy to follow! Thank you for sharing. Im sure my kids will love using this in their online classes and i still have plenty of time to make these.
May i ask if the Fabric Starch Spray does not destroy the yarn?

I am sure the kids will enjoy making this. The Fabric Strach Spray I used didn't destroy the yarn. So far I haven't heard any brand that it is harmful to the yarn, maybe I just did'nt aware of any..
