HOW TO MAKE AN ANGEL COSTUME

WHITE DRESS CROCHET PATTERN

Abbreviations

Top

With White Yarn:

Base Row: ch 58. Don't fasten, and don't cut yarn. Instead, pull a bigger loop to prevent it from being undone.

Triangle 1 
Row 1 (RS): With a new strand of yarn, insert hook at 17th on the base row sts, ch, sc 10, turn.
Row 2 (WS): ch, sc2tog, sc 6, sc2tog, turn.
Row 3: ch, sc2tog, sc 4, sc2tog, turn.
Row 4: ch, sc2tog, sc 2, sc2tog, turn.
Row 5: ch, sc2tog, sc2tog, turn.
Row 6: ch sc2tog
Row 7: ch.
Fasten & hide yarn.

Triangle 2 
Row 1 (RS): With a new strand of yarn, insert hook at 28th sts on the base row, ch, sc 10, turn.
Repeat Row 2 to Row 7 of Triangle 1.
Fasten & hide yarn.

Continue from the base row, slst in 6th st from hook (this will create a fastener loop of the dress), slst in the next 15 sts,
*sc on the next 7 stitches on the upward slope triangle 1,
make neck strap for triangle 1 by ch 51, slst in second st from hook, slst in the next 50,
sc on the next 7 stitches on the downward slope triangle 1.*

slst in the stitch of the base row, between 2 triangles.

Repeat the same (* to * of triangle 1) to triangle 2.
slst on the base row till you reach the end.
ch 2. Rotate the piece to work on the dress part.

Dress

Work the following on the other side of the base strip of the top:

HOW TO ASSEMBLE A RUFFLE DRESS

Sew a button on the dress as a fastener at the opposite side of the loop. Wear the dress on a doll and tie the neck strap into a ribbon bow.

STAR CROCHET PATTERN

The crochet Star pattern begins by crocheting 2 circles at the center. Stack the circles to crochet the 5 points of the star.

Center
Make 2 with White acrylic yarn or Gold raffia yarn.
Center 1:
Round 1: sc 6 in magic ring. {6}
Round 2: inc around. {12}
Round 3: [sc, inc] around. {18}
Round 4: [inc, sc 2] around. {24}
Round 5: [sc 3, inc] around. {30}
Fasten off and hide yarn.

Center 2:
Repeat Center 1 but do not fasten after finish the last round (round 5), continue to crochet the first star-point.

Star Points

Star-point 1:
Round 1: sc 7 on Center 2, sc 7 on Center 1. {14}
Round 2: [inv dec, sc 5] around. {12}

Star-point 2 to 5
With a new strand of yarn, begin crochet at the last stitch of the previous star-point at Center 2*. Leave about 3" to 4" yarn for sewing up the gap.

*point 2 begins at st 7, point 3 begins at st 13, point 4 begins at st 19, point 5 begins at st 25.
Repeat the star-point 1 pattern of Star to make a 5-points star.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE A STAR WAND

1. Crochet the star by following the star crochet pattern.
2. With a tapestry needle, sew the gaps between the points. There are only 4 gaps to sew. We will insert the wand stick into the fifth hole.
3. Wrap a 1-time use chopstick with yarn and glue it with all-purpose glue or you prefer quick dry adhesive. Set it aside to dry if needed. You may decorate it with gold thread for a more angelic look.
4. Put some glue to the tip of the wand stick and insert it into the star. Set aside to let it dry.
   

WINGS CROCHET PATTERN

Make 2 with gold raffia yarn, or light worsted acrylic yarn of your choice.

Sew the top of Rounds 10 & 11 to close the opening.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE ANGLE WINGS

Crochet 2 wings by following the Wings Crochet Pattern.

Sew to close the opening of the last 2 rounds.

Wet the wings by spraying them with some water. Adjust the shapes if needed, then flatten the wings and pin them on a pad. Set them aside to block and dry.

With a tapestry needle, sew the wings together to assemble a full pair of wings.

Add elastic cord to the wings so that the dolls can wear them on their shoulders.

For the amigurumi pattern in the animal wildlife collection, you may add another elastic cord to wear the wings on the body. Pull the elastic from the back and fasten it to the bottom of the body below the legs.

DIY ANGEL HALO

Cut the gold color aluminum wire to 12".

Wind the wire around a 2.5" diameter cylindrical core to form a ring.

Use a long nose plier to bend the long end to 90 deg right-angle. Bend the short end to grip and form a ring.
