Guess what, just one week until the spooky festival! How far have you come since you first started to decorate your home with Halloween-related elements? This year, we’re closing our Halloween chapter with a crochet project, the all-white Angel costume for Amigurumi. If you enjoyed crocheting the Devil costume and Witch costume, then you should try out this Angel Halloween costume too!
There are several occasions where you can use our Amigurumi angel crochet costume. Apart from crocheting it as a Halloween decoration, you can display our little doll at home or office until Christmas! She’d act as the perfect gift for young girls as well.
Some say that Halloween is the best holiday; you get to dress up as your favorite character, carve pumpkins, go trick-or-treating, eat tons of scary-looking snacks, and most importantly, savor on all the candies! While it may be difficult to celebrate this holiday with friends during the pandemic, we can still decorate our homes, watch scary movies, and play dress-up with our kids.
The inspiration for our Amigurumi Angel Cat crochet pattern came from our model Amigurumi cat, Hello Kitty. After receiving praises from her Devil costume photoshoot, she wanted another outfit defining her pure and innocent personality. Even though the angel and devil costumes offer a different vibe, they both make Hello Kitty the brightest star in the room.

Like our other crochet costume tutorials, we will be splitting the Angel costume pattern into four pieces; Ruffle Dress, Angel Wings, Star Wand, and Angel Halo. By explaining each pattern in-depth, we hope you will achieve the same outcome as we did!
Materials & Tools
To get started, you’ll need to prepare some white acrylic yarn (light worsted), Gold Color Raffia Yarn, Gold Aluminum wire, a small button, elastic cord, and recyclable bamboo chopstick. On the tools wise, you will need a 2.5mm crochet hook tapestry needle, scissors, long nose plier, and quick dry adhesive.
Ruffle Dress
The total length of our ruffle dress is about 5” long. With a sexy bikini top, this bareback ruffle dress is inspired by our Devil dress costume. The top section is essentially the same as the red crochet doll dress pattern; this time, we designed the dress with ruffles at the bottom for a more angelic look. If you’re planning to make a smaller or larger dress, you must re-check your gauge.
Angel Wings
No Angel Halloween costume would be complete without a pair of angels wings! We used gold raffia yarn, but you may opt for a light worsted acrylic yarn of your choice. Begin the 9” angel wings pattern by crocheting two wings then sew the wings together to make it a pair. To help your dolls “wear” the wings on their shoulders, you may add elastic cords on the sides of the wings. Or you may attach the wings permanently to the doll by sewing or glueing.
Star Wand
The next prop for our DIY Angel Costume is the star wand. This pattern consists of two parts: a star and a wand stick. Follow the crochet pattern to make a crochet star. For the wand stick, you will only need to wrap and glue a disposable chopstick with yarn. Then, put some glue on the tip of the wand and insert it into the star.
Angel Halo
Now that we’ve covered most of our how-to DIY angel costume guide, we have one last non-crochet prop to make – the Angel halo. Halos are a ray of light, shining above or around the head of those with supernatural powers, such as saints and angels. They’re usually seen as a circular-shaped discs and represent innocence, holiness, and light. With a 2.5” diameter, this circular halo is made with craft aluminum wire in gold color. Wait, that’s it? Yes! Well, along with a long nose plier and a pair of scissors to shape the wire.
Now that you have a brief understanding of how to crochet this Angel Halloween costume, it’s time to make it yours! Depending on how well-versed you are with crochet, it may take approximately three hours to complete this beginner-level project. Apart from making this costume for Amigurumis, you can adjust the template and turn it into an outfit for your pet or a toddler!
Here they are, Angel cat rejoices with Devil and Witch cat at the Halloween party. They enjoy the fun of treat or trick, walking around the neighborhood to collect candies. After the event, they literally relax themselves recalling the wonderful people they met just now.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE ANGLE WINGS
Crochet 2 wings by following the Wings Crochet Pattern.
Sew to close the opening of the last 2 rounds.
Wet the wings by spraying them with some water. Adjust the shapes if needed, then flatten the wings and pin them on a pad. Set them aside to block and dry.
With a tapestry needle, sew the wings together to assemble a full pair of wings.
Add elastic cord to the wings so that the dolls can wear them on their shoulders.
For the amigurumi pattern in the animal wildlife collection, you may add another elastic cord to wear the wings on the body. Pull the elastic from the back and fasten it to the bottom of the body below the legs.
DIY ANGEL HALO
Cut the gold color aluminum wire to 12".
Wind the wire around a 2.5" diameter cylindrical core to form a ring.
Use a long nose plier to bend the long end to 90 deg right-angle. Bend the short end to grip and form a ring.
Notes
Depending on the speed and hours you are spending on the project, the total time needed is only an approximation.
