piggy amigurumi

After about a 3-month break from Mei Li of AmiguruMei, she is back to contribute another super cute amigurumi pattern, the Amigurumi Pig called Princess P (P for Peanut).

Princess P, the amigurumi pig has a rosy chick and she likes to wear her favorite ballerina skirts, not forgetting her little princess crown. This stuffed pig is a sweet, well-mannered little girl. She loves ice cream but mommy has just put her on a month-long diet. How nice it would be if she had a friend or two…

This piggy amigurumi Princess P is about 5″ high if crochet with sport weight or baby yarn. Bulkier yarn will give a slightly bigger doll size, vice versa, the lighter yarn will give a smaller size. You may refer to this post to find a suitable yarn size and its corresponding hook size for amigurumi. Read this post for general amigurumi knowledge.

Hi, may I know where did you get the toy filling in Penang? Is there another way except buying from Etsy? Thanks! 😀

Hi Yeen, Do you mean the fiber-filling? I used filling from pillow, you can get it in major departmental store. Get the refill pack for a cheaper price.

    Hi Bel!

It’s Mei of Amigurumei. To do surface crochet, you basically attach a new strand of yarn onto your hook, much like how you would start if you’re crochething a scarf. With the yarn on the hook, you will be crocheting directly into the body piece, by going in one of the holes of the body’s single crochet and coming out in another. Continue along until you’ve basically crocheted all around to meet your first stitch, then slip stitch to that. For the following, you may continue crocheting as normal using the first circle of surface crochet stitches you made on the body. Hope this helps! 🙂

Most of the amigurumi patterns used 2.3mm but you can use 3mm too. The piggy is about 5″ tall.

Hi Pauline, it is a local brand yarn. You can find similar in Lionbrand and other brand, look up for sport weight or fingering baby yarn in acrylic materials.

It is hard to find the safety eyes in Penang. I bought them from Etsy (online store). Princess P is using brad pins, you may try to get them from major stationery and art supply shop.
