Blue Flower Frame Clutch Bag S

Before I go into how I made The Dazzle – Vintage Frame Clutch Bag, I would like to share with you a little about Rumah Nur Salam.

Being a mother of 2, my kids are my priority, making sure that they are brought up in a healthy environment, both physically and mentally, giving them all the loves I have. Not all kids are lucky to have proper shelter, food, education and love. There are kids out there who are being abused, abandoned by their parents, some even forced to live off the street…. Sad to descride any further!!!! The good news is we have a foundation and centre here in the heart of the city Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia, to cater some of this unlucky children around the area of Chow Kit —— Rumah Nur Salam or House Of Nur Salam. It is a 24-hour activity center and ’safe house’ that provide safe, healthy and loving environment to children under the age of 18, living or loitering, in that area. Children registered at the center are given food, shelter and are exposed to educational, health and recreational activities and programs that otherwise may not be accessible to them.

Rumah Nur Salam is a collaboration project between the Department of Welfare (JKM) and Yayasan Salam Malaysia which started in 2001 as an activities centre open from 8am to 5pm but later developed into a 24-hour safe house in 2007. Apparently, there are 400 registered children in this centre. You can read more about Rumah Nur Salam on The Programmes, Background and History, and Director’s Statement. If you would like to donate directly to them, please follow this link.

Back to my darling ooooppppsss….. I mean Dazzle bag…..

Luxury touch of high quality fabric internal and externally. External material is heavy upholstery fabric and internal material is soft-touch satin. There is a zip pocket and 2 slip pockets inside this handbag.

Bag Internal

A detachable crochet hand-made amigurumi flower that sparkles. You can use it as a brooch on your outfit or turn it into a hairband, or simply leave it as a motif on the handbag, the choice is yours.

Blue Crochet Flower

Ball Clasp Frame Closure with double metal chain strip add another level of classy look to the bag, not mention the real leather beneath it and the decoration buttons, ma-ma-mia…… they are all 100% hand-sewn and hand-attached.

Frame Clutch

Fine workmanship of beading works and iron-on diamonds on the motif, just enough to bring out a bit of sarkle, not too much and not too little.

Sequince flower

Lastly, The Dazzle- Vintage Frame Clutch Bag measures 42cm(W) x 27cm(H) excluding the chain strip.

  2. skinnymum says:

awesome bag ….. simply stunning! it’s a pity i will not be around next week. any chance you will make me another one, with proceeds to same charity?

  3. Joanne says:

Beautiful craftmanship – and for such a good cause! Good for you!

    • Hi Joanne, thanks for the comment. I really put a lot of time and effort on it since it is going for a good cause, hoping that it will help to raise more fund for the charity function.

  4. yenny says:

    I like it.Such a wonderful craft!

  5. Sumay says:

Hi, this is Sumay, and I am representing Nur Salam as a fundraiser/organiser. Joanne has so kindly donated her beautiful bag to me (I wonder how she felt as she was packing it to send it to me) and when I told her I was doing a fundraiser, she immediately offered to help me out. As she was making it, she said this was the most painstaking one as she had to wrack her brain thinking up of the design and I can see that this is the finest bag she has made and she is giving it away! What a lovely lady with a big heart! Anyway, it is gorgeous! It looks even better in real life and it is large! Comes with a beautiful dust bag with Craft Passion’s name sewn onto it. Skinnymum, if you’re interested, you can still have the bag but my reserve price is RM800 for the bid. A few ladies are already interested in bidding for it. If you like, please put a bid on it for it, give me your best price then if everything goes through, you will own this beautiful one-of-a-kind bag. I will have to tell the other ladies, sorry! Let me know by 10th July. Thanks!

    • Hi Sumay, good question about how I feel during the packing stage. I hugged and bid farewell to The Dazzle that night before, held it up and looked at it until I am satisfied, put it into the box, sighed a while, took it out again, looked again, held it again, put it back again, repeated over and over again…. I told myself, since it is out for a good cause, I have to let go. I quickly sealed the box and couriered to you before I changed my mind.

  6. Wai Wan says:

This bag is amazing, I really love it, would like to buy it for my mom’s birthday.

    • Hi Wai Wan, no problem, just send in your bid to the fundraising organiser and you could probably own the bag even wihtout going to the party. Please refer tot eh comment posted by Sumay, one of the fundraising committees.

  7. skinnymum says:

    sumay,
thanks for your response. not very sure how auction works – does it means that if i offer anything higher than rm800, i will win the bag?

  8. Sumay says:

    Hi Ladies,

Thanks so much for your interest in Joanne’s beautiful bag. Frankly I feel like keeping it for myself too. I really, really cannot imagine how Joanne felt as she was packing it to send to me. The material feels like satin but tougher and the leather work is very nice. Adds a bit of edginess to the soft design. I still have to bring the bag to the fundraiser and I will start it at RM800. Skinnymum, yes, the bid will start at RM800 and if you can offer something higher than that, it would be great. Joanne will be there (wow I am so touched, she’s coming from Penang all the way to KL for this)to bid on your behalf. Say if you give me RM1200 for it, she will bid for it then seal the deal. If someone bids higher for it, then I have no choice but to let it go. Please send the bids to Joanne’s personal email address AS SHE WILL BID ON YOUR BEHALF. Joanne, please don’t tell me the price of the bag, just bid on that evening.

    • Skinnymum: Please let me know the price quietly…. shooiii!!!! I won’t let Sumay know and I will bid on your behalf that night.

Sumay: Just can’t wait to be at the fundraising party, I sincerely hope my contribution helps in getting the kids a better life!!!!

  9. Sumay says:

Joanne, certainly it will, every cent counts. NurSalam doesn’t get much help from the Govt compared to other organisations because it is not a very glamourous org like cancer, MERCY (Malaysia’s equivalent to Medicines sans frontieres) because a lot of the children are kids of sex workers and some of them are even sex workers (please don’t be shocked) and are considered “pariah” by the conservative members of society. Bless you Joanne! I am so glad we met! This surely must make you so happy that your skill and hobby is going to help a good cause!!!!

    • You have such a kind heart to sacrify your personal time and become a volunteer in this event. I understand that there are a huge amount of things and efforts need to carry out to organise this meaningful event. Just to mention a few: arrange for the event venue, the sponsors, the programs, the publicity, the correspondances etc etc….. it wouldn’t be a successful event without a person really throw him/her time into it.
BRAVO!!!! To all the organising committe members!!!!

  10. Sumay says:

Joanne, thanks very much but we have a fantastic team of committee members, each specialising in their own field who put everything together. The tickets were designed by one of the staff at NurSalam and it’s really cool!!!! Check out the page on Facebook, it’s the one that looks like a blackboard (since the fund is going to build a school for the stateless and refugee kids). I think you and your family are really going to enjoy themselves at this party!

  11. Pamela Tanino says:

    I love this!!!!!

  12. Jessica Escoba says:

    I like this as well.

  13. Emily Baker says:

    This is amazing!!!!!!!
