As a matter of fact, we have published the Witch Hat, Witch Cape, and Witch Broom separately in line with this Halloween Witch Cat Costume pattern. However, to ease your reading, we decided to make a rounded up the Witch costume for amigurumi to include all the info into a single pattern. Also, if you are interested in the little pumpkin next to them, here is the link to the free amigurumi pumpkin crochet pattern. The pumpkin crochet patterns consist of 3 different sizes; the one shown above is the smallest size.

Witch Cape

With a crochet tension of 22 sts x 24 rows, the total length of our crochet Witch Cape is 7”; with a drape length of 4.5”. This pattern is made up of three simple components; collar, drape, and tie. Begin by crocheting the collar, followed by the drape that connects to the collar; then use chain stitches to finish off the tie until it measures 14”.

We used purple yarn to crochet the Witch Cape for our black witch cat. Do feel free to crochet your cape with your preferred color to match your theme.

Witch Hat

Our crochet Witch hat measures at 4” tall, 3.5” wide with a head circumference of 4”. Again, this is done with the same crochet tension of the witch cape of 22 sts x 24 rows. You will first need to crochet the hat body in rounds with purple-colored yarn, followed by the hat band with orange-colored yarn, then the buckle with black-colored yarn. Finally, assemble the three components by sewing or sticking the band & buckle to the hat.

Besides black and orange, purple is one of the dominant colors for Halloween. Similar to the cape color, since the crochet stuffed cat is already black color, we did the hat with purple yarn to contrast the overall look of the costume.

Witch Broom

This broom is a quick and easy Halloween craft to make, and it doesn’t require any crochet skill. It is so easy that kids can make it. What you need are an 8″ long ¼” twig, raffia yarn in kraft color, and some simple tools that you can find in your craft drawer. You may replace the raffia yarn with another type of yarn; just ensure it has stiff fiber like twine, linen yarn, starched yarn, or paper yarn.

Begin by winding the yarn roughly 40 times around the cardboard, then insert a new yarn strap through the loops before removing it from the cardboard. Next, place the twig on the yarn, and apply some all-purpose adhesive to the twig where the area is in contact with the yarn. Finish off by tying another strip of yarn to the broom’s brush and trim all excess yarn.
